A fast and healthy snack that’s a favourite with me is peanut butter crumpets.
Peanut butter is very healthy, especially when compared to alternative crumpet toppings, it’s tasty, packed full of good energy and, when spread onto a crumpet makes for a great snack, or even a breakfast.
For a quick breakfast to go a peanut butter crumpet really hits the spot!
A jar of peanut butter can be bought cheaply and keeps for months in the cupboard.
How to Make:
- Buy ready made English crumpets at the supermarket. These can be frozen by simply opening the freezer door and throwing them in!
- Toast one or two crumpets in your toaster.
- Spread a teaspoon of peanut butter on top.
- Eat while the crumpet’s still hot!
It’s so simple and wonderfully tasty, plus a peanut butter crumpet feels more decadent than it should for the amount of effort you’ve put in!
Menu Cost:
Bought English crumpets cost from £0.06 each and a spoon of peanut butter’s probably no more than £0.02, so this is a great snack for well under £0.10! Frugal and healthy snacking effortlessly.
