Who doesn’t like a bit of a chocolate treat? And this Nutella Banana Wrap hits the spot as a quick and tasty treat – and there’s one of those 5-a-day we’re trying to fit in, so it’s practically compulsory to have one of these! I’ve bought a pack of wraps for snacks and meals over the Christmas week, so it was time to crack open that bag!
Using wraps make a change from making sandwiches – and, for the most part, the fillings are the same, so it gives me the feeling that I’ve eaten something different, without having to think too much!
I had a lonely banana to use up and so this was my solution. It can be served hot or cold and is a healthier option than using the banana to make a banana cake!
Wrap Ingredients:
- One tortilla wrap, a plain one’s best as mediterranean herb would be a bit strange, although today I did use a herb one because that’s what I’ve got!
- 20 grams, two teaspoons, of Nutella, or any chocolate spread.
- One banana.
Method:
- Optionally warm the tortilla the usual way; some people will dry fry a tortilla in a pan for a minute or so, I prefer to just pop it into the microwave for 30 seconds. To be honest, I’m never sure why … but it’s what I do. Some people use wraps straight from the packet, which you can do if you wish.
- Spread the chocolate spread across the tortilla wrap, whether that’s Nutella, or a supermarket own brand range – it really doesn’t matter.
- Slice up the banana and lay it out mostly on one side and not too close to the edge – this is to make it easier when you get to the wrapping stage.
- Wrap the tortilla the way you usually do, there are two main ways: fold opposite sides over until they nearly meet, then roll, or, how I do it, just roll the whole thing and cut it into halves.
- Optionally microwave it for 30-40 seconds to warm it through.
Eat!
Wrap Cost:
Depending where you buy your tortilla wraps from and your bananas, this can cost from under 25p. One banana is often 12p, tortilla wraps can work out at 8p, the chocolate spread is pennies too.
