Does your microwave rice pouch fall over when cooking? How do you make them stand up and not fall over? At best it can be annoying, but if you’re microwaving a sauce it can be disastrous.
So many people seem to be having this problem and asking how to stop microwave pouches falling over while cooking that I thought it was time I did a “Show and Tell” on this simple solution!
How to Stand Microwave Pouches Up
If you look at the bottom, the pouch designers thought of this! When you pick up a pouch from the supermarket shelf it’s been made to aid transportation – and they have an built in ‘stand’. This design stops microwave pouches falling down!
Just slide your kitchen scissors up the bottom and you’ll notice there’s a slit in the side of the pouch – just snip it open and the bottom of the pouch expands, creating a handy stand!
There is a slit on each side, two slits – just cut and spread the base of the pouch out.
How come you never noticed before?
This also explains why pouches appear too tall to fit into a microwave oven; they keep catching on the roof of the microwave as the glass turntable turns – once you’ve slit the base and spread it out, this is no longer a problem.
Go and look!
