Beef Lean Diced Steak, 400 grams, Birchwood Farm
|One of Lidl’s Pick of the Week Offers this last week has been this beef lean diced steak from Birchwood Farm. The pack size is 400 grams, which I know will make me 3-4 meals, depending on how I use it. I plan to use the slow cooker to turn it into beef stew as it’s currently the winter and I fancy a bit of a stew 🙂
The cost of this was £2.19 for 400 grams, which is £5.48/Kg.
In the meantime I’ll freeze it – by putting the diced beef steak into a freezer bag and flattening it down. This means it takes up the least room – but is also what people do in professional kitchens.
This diced steak has just 5% fat and looks really lean – it doesn’t look like I need to spend any time cutting off extra fat from this as there isn’t any!
Update & Review:
Since writing this post, I’ve had chance to try this beef steak. This is really lean beef steak and is definitely a keeper. I bought another pack after cooking this first pack! I’ll definitely be buying this when it’s a Lidl Pick of the Week next year!
I used both packs to make slow cooker beef stews, just to use up other leftovers in the house. This quality of beef really deserves to be treated more respectfully as it was super lean and melt in the mouth!
