Aldi Black Forest Mince Pies

I’ve been keeping an eye out in Aldi for the Chocolate Orange Mince Pies, but spotted these instead! Last year I bought the chocolate orange mince pies and found them “acceptable”, so was looking for them again. I’ve never been a fan of mince pies, but was happy enough to try “something similar-ish”. But the Chocolate Orange flavour never showed itself this year. Instead, I spotted Black Forest Mince Pies!

To give them their full title, the box says they are Specially Selected, Rich and Buttery, 6 Black Forest Mince Pies With Chocolate Chunks and Morello Cherries! Sounds ideal 🙂

Black Forest Gateau has always been a favourite of mine, so these Black Forest mince pies were coming home with me! They’re now hidden “out of sight, out of mind” in the Christmas food stash …. only a few more days to go, so I have to not eat them before Christmas. I’ve heard that most stores have already run out, so there’d be no chance of replacing them if I opened the box!

I’ve also spotted a Black Forest Trifle in Asda… but quickly legged it before I was tempted by that too. I have to keep telling myself “you can’t eat everything!”
